Off the BoardTerms of Use

These terms cover your use of the Off the Board app, provided by HOM GROUP ("we"). By using the app, you agree to them. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's standard license agreement also applies, and these terms add to it.
What the app is, and isn't
Off the Board is self-help software for people who want to stop or cut back on betting. It offers lessons, tools, and reminders. It isn't medical care, therapy, or a treatment program, and it doesn't diagnose or treat any condition. We can't promise any particular result.
Nobody at Off the Board sees what you enter in the app, so we can't respond to an emergency or check on you. If you're in crisis, call or text the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738), or call or text 988. If you're in danger, call 911.
The lessons explain how betting works in general. They aren't financial, legal, or tax advice. Details like odds, promotions, and self-exclusion rules vary and change over time, so check anything important with the source.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that's higher, to use the app.
Subscriptions and purchases
Some features need a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payments are handled by Apple or Google under their terms, and are charged to your App Store or Google Play account.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- If a plan includes a free trial, you're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first. If notifications are on, the app reminds you before the trial ends. Each free trial can be used once.
- Lifetime access is a one-time purchase that doesn't renew. It gives you the full program for as long as we offer the app.
- If we change the price of a subscription, Apple or Google will tell you before the new price applies, under their rules.
- You can cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies.
- The urge tool, crisis help, your counters, the setup checklist, and big-game-week plans stay free whether or not you subscribe.
Your information
What you enter in the app is stored on your phone, as described in the privacy policy. We don't keep a copy. If you delete the app or your phone is lost without a backup, we can't recover it.
Links to other services
The app links to helplines, state self-exclusion programs, and sportsbooks' own self-exclusion pages. We don't run those services and aren't responsible for them. We check the links, but pages can change.
Off the Board isn't affiliated with any sportsbook, casino, league, or team. Their names are used only to describe them, and they belong to their owners.
Using the app fairly
The app and its lessons belong to us. You can use them for yourself. Please don't copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the app or its content, or use it to break the law.
Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. You can stop using the app at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live.
The rest
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app.
