Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

Off the Board is an app from HOM GROUP ("we"). It helps people stop sports betting, and we built it so that the personal things you enter stay with you. This policy covers the app and this website.

What stays on your phone

Everything you enter in the app is stored only on your device. That includes your quiz answers and weekly amount, your reason for quitting, your clean days and past stretches, what led up to a lapse if you note it, your urge log and how strong each urge felt, your daily and game-day check-ins, your plans, your savings goal, the debts you list, your pay schedule, your state, your support person's name and number, your checklist, and your lesson progress.

We don't have a server that receives any of it, and we can't see it. Your reason for quitting is kept in your phone's encrypted secure storage. The rest is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read.

Your phone's own backup (iCloud on iPhone, or Google's backup on Android) may include this information, depending on your phone's settings. Those backups are controlled by Apple or Google and your account with them, not by us. On Android, your reason for quitting isn't included in backups, so you'd enter it again on a new phone.

App lock and the home screen widget

If you turn on the app lock, your phone checks your face, fingerprint, or passcode. The app only learns whether the check passed. It never sees your face or fingerprint data.

On Android, if you add the home screen widget, your clean-day count and the money you've kept show on your home screen, where anyone who looks at your phone can see them. The widget doesn't mention betting. You can remove it from your home screen at any time.

What we don't do

We don't require an account. We don't show ads. We don't use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools in the app or on this website, and we don't sell or share your information.

Purchases

If you subscribe or buy lifetime access, the payment is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment details.

We use a service called RevenueCat to check whether you have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives your purchase history, a random purchase ID created by the app, and basic information it needs to work, such as your country or currency, and technical details your phone sends with any internet request, like its IP address. It doesn't receive your name, your email, or anything you enter in the app. RevenueCat keeps this for us as a service provider. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your phone: daily or weekly lessons, game-day and payday check-ins, the monthly support-person nudge, and the reminder before a free trial ends. They don't go through our servers, and you can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.

Helplines, links, and ratings

When you tap a button to call, text, or chat with a helpline, to text your support person, or to open a sportsbook's or state's self-exclusion page, your phone opens its own phone, messaging, or browser app. What happens after that is between you and that service. If you rate the app, the rating goes to Apple or Google, not to us.

Exporting your data

You can export a copy of what the app stores from Setup, then Settings, then Export my data. It's a plain text copy, so send it somewhere you trust. We don't receive it.

If you contact us

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. An email started from the app also includes your phone's operating system and your purchase ID, so we can find your purchase records. You can delete those lines before sending. We use your email only to reply, and we'll delete it if you ask. Please don't send more about your betting than you need to for your question.

Deleting your information

You can delete everything the app stores at any time from Setup, then Settings, then Delete all my data. Because we don't hold your in-app information, there's nothing else for us to delete. To remove your purchase records from RevenueCat, or your emails with us, write to us from Setup, then Settings, then Contact support, and we'll do it within 30 days. Apple and Google keep their own records of purchases, which you can manage with them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, or to delete it. For the app, the only information we hold is described above: purchase records at RevenueCat and any emails you send us. Email us to make a request. We won't treat you differently for making one.

Age

The app is intended for adults. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this policy and the date at the top. If a change means we'd start collecting something new, we'll say so in the app before it happens.
